A Truly Romantic Getaway in Boracay

The long Christmas break gave us a chance to spend a few days in Boracay for a little R & R. I had been to Boracay several times and I always enjoy the long, lazy walks in the White Beach. What I like about Boracay is it’s constantly changing. There are many things to see along the four kilometers stretch of white sand. People, new buildings and restaurants, etc. We had a chance to wander around Boracay West Cove located at the far end of Diniwid Beach. The first thing that caught our sight was the grass covered cabana built on top of a big rock. The stylized cabana jutting from among the rocks is a photographers’ dream. It is connected to the rest of the structures by a landscaped concrete bridge. There are many cabanas in the resort and they are all designed with old tree trunks that resemble a crooked hat. I really admire the works of the architect/designer.

While taking some pictures, I checked every nook and cranny (with permission of course) and discovered that there is a stairway leading towards a small cave below and there are several foot paths and stairways that could lead you to the beach. An infinity pool and outdoor Jacuzzi with a mini-bar are under construction and there is an on-going expansion of rooms at the top of the building. By the way, the resort is marketed for honeymooners and for those who wanted a small, private beach wedding. Manny Pacquiao is rumored to have stayed here.
