Guintubdan – My Summer Hideaway

Summer is here already or shall I say El Niño is finally here with us creating so much heat and causing water shortages in many of our homes. Rumors tell us that it will stay longer than we thought but we just hope it will be over soon. When the weather becomes hot and dry like what we are experiencing now, my feet becomes itchy to go to Guintubdan to cool myself with the refreshing water from the falls.

When Liza and her hubby, Alex arrived from the USA, they invited me to go with them together with her family to La Carlota City. I didn’t refuse especially when they mentioned that they’re going to Guintubdan. I always wanted to go back again and again to this wonderful place even if I’d been there a couple of times.

Liza has relatives in La Carlota so transportation, accommodation, food and everything had already been arranged and we had enough time to explore, swim, eat and sleep. Ahhh, what a way to escape the heat of summer.

Guintubdan is a mountain resort tucked in the south-eastern side of Mt. Kanlaon. The mountain resort is always crowded with people during summer especially during the Holy Week. If you want to go there, coordinate with Bago City or La Carlota City Local Government for information.

Check out my waterfall pics in my previous post.
